Been using a D3200 as the main camera on a shoot for the past few days.
It's recording at 24mbps, just like the D800. I think the lower-quality mode is 16 or thereabouts, but who ever uses that?
I'm finding that Class 10 20mb/s SD cards are not fast enough for it. We're using a D5100 as a B-camera, and it handles those cards fine so the bit rate increase on the D3200 is obviously significant. Anyway, every once in a while recording stops and the camera needs 30s to a minute to "catch up." Not ideal, obviously, so I'll have to upgrade my cards!
You can't adjust aperture in Live View. But you can adjust everything else before you record, which is nice, rather than having to use the "exposure lock" trick on the D5100 (does anyone else's D5100 tend to underexpose video as badly as mine if you leave it up to the metering?
)
The "jello effect" on the D5100 is more pronounced than on the D3200 as well. I wonder if this has something to do with this EXPEED3 thingy.
Anyway, especially with prime lenses, we're really thrilled with the price/performance ratio of this thing... pixel peepers may snub it, but we're getting very useable stuff.
