D-Movie Screening Room...

"things pass....and I watch them"
Right! I am jacks liver, soaked with rumors...and crappy jello is now suitable for high key cinematographers?

Seriously! Nikon? What's up? Again, whom ever they hired to do their advertising campaign is lame. They would be better off picking someone from these forms.

And why no freaking manual controls yet if they are giving so much attention to the D-movie? What's up with that?

Do some research Nikon and pay attention to these forms or the petition... jeesh.

While the video was alright, it showcased almost none of the positive features of the camera. To much emphasis on the spoken word and not on the moving images. I felt like the guy just pressed record and the exposure lock button and figured he'd 'fix it in post' by making it artsy.

Yep, all you´re saying is right :-). But lets think positive. The screening room was opened up today by Nikon. Why now? Perhaps it´s also related to the upcoming "D300s" (and other ones expected later)?
"In the hands of a professional cinematographer, D-Movie has the power to move and inspire". Possibly that could mean

- We care intensely for a more professional video mode
- we don´t leave this promising market to canon and others without a struggle
............... etc.

Is it a new beginning? I´ve still some doubts but..... who knows?

True that Capice. Time will tell though... This next year will be interesting to see what they do.
:)

Maybe, just maybe this shows that Nikon, in its own special thick-headed way, is in fact paying attention to the value of the movie mode in their dSLR's. We can only hope that this bodes well for the future for those on the Nikon side of the world.
