Whipped this up over the last week or so off and on, finally grinded on it and finished it today. Went all in on this one, the titles at the beginning took forever to make and render haha.. But I like how the whole vid came out. Tried to be real critical of gamma changes between clips and such. Shot all on a naked hmc (except for my rode ntg-1). Edited on FCP and graded in magic bullet.

wow is all i have to say!
loved the use of the pictures at the end ,and the titles were nice too
although the cheering with the fans and everything was cool ,i would have left that out myself ,does he have any schools looking at him right now ,or he is just going to send this to a lot of different ones?

Thanks! And what cheering of fans? He's got quite alot of interest from schools currently, including a recent offer from University of Washington. This wasn't for recruiting, this was just a fun highlight tape that his dad paid me to do.

You used a lot SloMo's so i guess u have been shoot in 720p50 ?

well just when hes jumping around with them and stuff
i thought this was an actual reel for recruitment ,but it definitely works since it isnt
 
As a recruiting video, it doesn't work. I can tell you from my years working at the UW (and I hope that's were this kid ends up, GU be darned :) ) this isn't what a coach is looking for. A coach needs to see that a kid can actually play, and a 2 second, effects laden clip doesn't really accomplish that. Even a mediocre player can look good given that treatment. And besides, 99.9999% of all tapes/DVD we received were thrown out or recycled without ever being watched. And I was told that's how it is at most D-1 schools. But, since you did this just for fun, all that really doesn't matter.

Now, as a highlight video... that was freaking great. I mean really really good. It works wonderfully as just a fun end of the year highlight reel. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and I hope the player did to. Very nicely done.

Oh absolutely, I agree haha. This isn't meant at all to be a recruiting video. His dad just paid me to do a fun, end of the year highlight of this kid, not meant to send out to schools. Thanks for the comments man! He ended up comitting to oregon, should be interesting to watch him play in a year.
