Cynthia: The Cosplayer

So, I have not posted on here in the past few years but I wanted to share with you a short video i did on my friend Cynthia. I basically wanted to put something together that lightly showcased a talented cosplay artist while giving those who are unfamiliar with cosplay, a little taste of what we in the cosplay community do.

I developed this concept of a talking head-less documentary, because much of what I do on a daily basis are talking heads, and I was inspired by the idea of doing something a bit out of the norm. I took this "out of the norm" idea in to the color grading, where I did a very heavy grade, simply because I knew that i could do something so stylized.

Please critique, I really want to hear what you guys think.

hank you guys

I've been getting a pretty good response from the cosplay group. The like the fact I didnt just focus on scantly clad girls. So what you guys think? I typically dont like critiques but i'd love to hear what you guys have to say.

Very nice. Some nice camera moves, shots, angles, grading, etc...

I'm about to go to a convention myself, a small low-rent one, to take some shots of the "fashion show". I got so depressed looking at videos of last years con and how small it looked, but you've inspired me to try and make the best of it.

I've been pretty lucky living in the DC area, there are about 4 or 5 conventions per year in the area. But I find that taking pictures of the cosplayers especially if you can get them to do a cool pose or something. But I am sure that even at smaller ones there has to be a good number of energetic people who would love to have their picture taken. Cosplayers like us video people love to show off.
