These spot are a bit different for me and I like that! I was the DP for both of them. The producer/director had a look he was after and we worked together to achieve his vision. Collaboration my friends is the key to success.
The first one with the girl was shot with the Canon C100 with the native codec. No external recorder. I chose the C100 because I knew I had to shoot handheld for most of the spot and it's a little lighter than the C300. I like the Fig Rig for this because it really smooths the shot out plus the C100 is a great camera and I trust it. I used the Canon 24-105 for all the handheld shots. IS works so dang good on that lens. The bedroom scene was the Rokinon 85mm and Canon 24-105 for the super tights. I wish the Rokinon 85mm could focus closer in, but it doesn't for those tight shots.
The school shoot was shot with the Canon C300. The kid at the lockers was the Rokinon 85mm (love that lens) For the classroom and cafeteria scene I used the Canon 16-35 at 16mm. Thats a nice lens as well. We used a Kessler CineSlider on both spots.
Camera was set to Canon Log CINEMA with stock settings.
