custom video setting on 60D?

Hi all,

can somebody with a 60D clarify for me if you can set the 'C' (custom) setting to video/25p/1/50th sec etc as you can on the 7D,
I just read a post on another forum that suggested you can't and the manual is not too clear, I'm about to buy,

you can defo shoot at 25p 1/50th but not sure what you mean buy assigning it to a custom setting or why this would be a deal clincher ?
 
Thanks for replying- what I mean is that on a 7D I can assign for example video at 25P 1/50th sec to one custom setting (eg C1) and 50P 1/100th sec to another custom setting (C2) along with all associated picture profile settings, I assumed that on the 60D you could do that too with it's single 'C' setting but a guy in a local shop has confirmed that you apparently can't assign shooting mode (ie. video) on the 60D's custom mode. I assume that you have to switch to video, then manual and make sure all settings are as you want them. This shouldn't be a deal breaker but it's definitely sent the balance a little more towards the 7D for me, another 'pro' feature that makes things quicker on a job.
 
You can't assign movie mode to custom setting (the menu which does this disappears in movie mode).

With Magic Lantern, you can swap movie mode with C or CA positions on the mode dial, but the settings will be the same as in regular movie mode (not a different preset).
 
I honestly think the 60D is the better camera for video, i've done plenty of research before buying mine and i'm most defiantly a pro user. For quick selection you have picture profiles you can access everything on 3 separate user presets (very easy and quick to select between functions). Also you can select 24,25 and 50p all from quick selection. If you do select 50p then the default framerate I believe is 1/100th anyway. On the hole I find the selection menues to be very good with far better access than bigger cameras like the sony EX1 etc.
 
Thanks 4mat, that's reassuring, the 60Ds still a contender for me, as much as I like the 7Ds pro build quality some of it's technology is starting to look a little outdated- 4x3 lower res LCD screen, manual audio etc, I read it's probably due for an upgrade in the next few months, I can't really live without ML too.

ML works sweet on the 60D !

I got the 60D to tide me over until the 5DmkIII comes out, at under a grand you can't complain :O)
