Greetings all. I have convinced a friend of mine, Jim Bailey, from www.waterhousings.com to build a limited run of 6 housings for the GH2. In order to cut the price down he needs to make 6 to maximize his materials. They will be somewhat standardized as to what lenses it will accomodate and what controls; but there's always options and additional elements that can be worked into the unit. Jim built me one for my old HVX and it was absolutely the best. A complete tank.
I'm working through the details but I'll let you know the basics now. The units will accomodate small sized and possibly fisheye level lenses. It will have quality Oring seals and a 2nd replacement front port for each unit. Everything is designed for durability and both salt and fresh water up to about 20' deep. These are used primarily in action sports events, tough environment, etc. Jim has built waterhousings for over 50 years and for all manner of high end cameras like the Red Epic, film cameras, timelapse rigs, monitors, etc. You name it. They will have 2 controls as a standard, tripod mounting points, and be available in matte black and or white.
When the first units are made I will post pictures but you can see examples of his units on his website. This will be hopefully the first of many ventures I make with Jim. He's an 84 year old English man with a full toolshop and he loves to work and does things at an class A level.

So why settle for a mass-produced housing when you can get something custom and something that works for what and how YOU want to shoot. cheers all.
