Custom function button for frame rate on C300?

Not available on my XF300.

Tried to find it on the C300 virtual menu simulator, but no luck. : http://learn.usa.canon.com/resources/articles/Simulators/c300.shtml

To clarify, I want to assign a button to fast-switch to 60 fps.

Thanks,
CK

You're best bet is to assign the required parameters in the customizable 'my menu' section (the star at the bottom of first menu screen). Just go through and register the menu selections you need to change to to variable resolutions and framerates. This section is very useful to put your most common menu selections in so that you're not constantly jogging around the extensive menu.

Still a menu.

They desperately need to fix some of these issues through a firmware upgrade.
So tired of changing the ISO through the function button.

Sony uses a one push button on several of their cameras for variable frame rate. Very simple approach.

Fair enough, that can be a useful button if you do a lot of bouncing between 2 framerates. To have finer control requires the menu, though.

The sony button does take you to a menu where it is easy to select from 1 to 60 fps.
very simple very organized.
No bouncing around among many menu items.

Just saying it could be better.
My AC has had problems on a few occasions and I have to admit it was confusing the first or second time that I gave it a try.

I agree that it's a very convoluted process on the Canon. When i put the settings into the 'my menu' area, however, the process became much quicker and simpler. It's not as easy as a direct custom button, but this method is a marked improvement.

Ugh, I was afraid this would still be missing.

Thanks for all the input folks.

Brian, I appreciates your desire for control over parameters. Frankly for me, shooting sports, just getting in and out of frame rates quickly is very important. Actually easier on my 5D3 and 7D (Q menu) than with the XF300 (something like 5 clicks).

Guess I was spoiled by the dial on the back of the HVX200.
