Custom DVX XLR Cable ready for orders!

Re: Custom DVX XLR Cable ready for orders!

That's actually basically what Jarred suggested, and I gave that a shot, but like I mentioned above:
"while I can rotate the setting enough to make the angle better, the setting only recesses enough into the housing enough at certain increments, otherwise it won't close back up all the way. The increments are too far apart to be useful - if I could just nudge it a bit and reseal it I would be fine, but the next increment just puts me at another bad angle which actually makes the cable dip down below the camera bottom so I wouldn't be able to set it down. "

take the xlr section out as stated above, and use your handy-dandy dremel tool to make your own notch in the 'case' of the XLR to suit the angle you need.

Re: Custom DVX XLR Cable ready for orders!

I'll try that. I shouldn't have to do that as it's supposed to be a custom made cable, made specifically for this cam, but I'll give it a shot.

Re: Custom DVX XLR Cable ready for orders!

Thanks to all who ordered my cables. I hope they are all installed and working. I have ordered a new batch of connectors for a new run of cables, so let me know. Also some have said that putting the end in input 1 causes the connector to obstruct input 2. I try and make them so you can still use that input if you want to, but the way the connector is designed you only have 2 positions to set it in, so my advice is to use input 2 as default for my cable and input 1 for any other device. To my knowledge both inputs are identical so using one or the other shouldn't matter (correct me if I'm wrong). I'm able to use my shotgun on 2 and my wireless on 1 no problem. Gimme some feedback on this guys.

Actually they are not identical, unfortunately, but not that affects you as #2 is the port to be in. Input#2 allows you to record both left and right tracks off the #2 input, so you can have one (left) channel up normal and then the right channel set a little lower so if you peak on the left you can pull the audio from the right.
