C100: Custom C-log profile / grading test

I´ve been testing a lot of custom profiles in real life situations these days, some of which I found here or elsewhere on the net. However most of them had been C300 optimized, and none left me really happy with the results. I ended up creating my own and I´m honestly in love with it. The colors are rendered in a beautiful way, skintones are fantastic and generally a contrast/ saturation adjustment will do the job in post, however there´s enough room to push it even further. It´s even great to match Canon DSLRs, a simple contrast/ saturation adjustment again in post, and you´re done. What do you guys think?

The profile itself is simple:

gamma: c-log
sharpness off
color matrix: EOS standard
gain: -25 to -30

I also used log gamma with "arri eos daylight" color matrix by Art Adams:

color matrix: eos std., color gain -30, Phase +11, G-B +21 (the rest 0),

Nice skintones! I'm still looking for a "ready for delivery" setting and will try this out. So far I´m almost exclusively using WDR, since it seems to be tweaked for AVCHD recording, but with that infamous greenish cast. The C100 is seems to be flying of the shelves, I still hope someone with similar resources as Art Adams will give the settings a full run through and share the results;)

Spartacus I've used WDR for some time but noticed that it's more sensitive to banding in skies etc as soon as you're doing minor tweaks in post. But I guess it's meant to be taken as it is...
yeah a full run through would be awesome

Pave1 I liked that one too, it shifts green grass etc towards blue which appears like a popular look

In this CP you can change the blue cast in easy way. Colors with log gamma are very nice and grading is much easier than before with log color matrix.

How do you mount and power the Hyperdeck Shuttle on the C100? I'm also interested in buying one.

I´ve been researching a long time to find a good solution. I ended up using a cheeseplate to mount the Hyperdeck on rails behind my C100. For powering I use the ProAm USA Canon BP series to Marshall monitor battery adapter, which converts the 7.2V output to a 12V output. Get in on ebay, it´s cheaper than their online store. I got mine for 24 bucks. That way you can use the same batteries for your Hyperdeck and your camera. The adapter attaches through velcro and is secure enough as far as you don´t have really fast documentary-style shaky movements, but I might add a zip tie sometimes or even attach it on the cheeseplate below the Hyperdeck. You will need an adapter jack for the output cable, as the pin on the Hyperdeck power input is slightly thicker.
Hope that helps, cheers

Thanks for the detailed reply. I hadn't thought of using one battery to power the C100 and the Shuttle. :)

Welcome! To clarify: You´ll still use one battery for your cam and one for your Hyperdeck. Just the same battery type

Sorry I must have picked you up wrong. Thanks for clarifying.

I have a Swit S-8845 battery for my C100 that has 7.2V DC output so I wonder if this would power both the camera and shuttle for any length of time.. would need a 7.2 - 12v convertor though.
