The sRGB JPEG's smoosh some of the differences, but in general I can observe:
- Panasonic's much maligned LUT is actually very accurate.
- Neumann's and Art Adam's are too yellow/green. AA definitely was intended for a different camera, I suspect Neumann's is as well (even though it is sold for GH4.)
- Balthazar's mathematical approach to transforming to LOG and back out clearly has issues. Both luminance and saturation are off the charts.
- Leeming's crack at breathing new life into Cine-D is also very accurate. When the image is normalized and balanced, saturation and luminance become quite accurate. (The sample above has not been normalized for white balanced.)
Wow, lots of great testing there man! Props to ya. I was already happy with the basic panny Lut, am glad to see you find it accurate. Its colors were obviously more accurate than the camera's basic profiles, is what I saw. Are you thinking LEEMINGs is still mroe accurate than the Panny one? Anyone doing COLOR CHECKER close ups with SCOPES yet?
Look at all those extra stops in VLOG! (cough cough sarcasm!)
I have a new V-Log L transform calibrated for the GH4's V-Log L output. The above is using a V-Log transform, and it shows just how far off V-Log L is from V-Log.
