CS5 Predictions?

Is there any word about CS5 having Neoscene HD firstlight like capabilities. I am considering Neoscene HD for its lightroom like color control. If CS5 is going to include white balance control I'll save the money I would have have spent on Neoscene HD. Thanks!

Well... CS5 is supposed to be released in the second quarter of 2010. I read something about April somewhere. And CS4 is out for quite some time already. It was released on October 15 in 2008.

I am really rooting for CS5. Wanna have GPU (CUDA) support for Premiere and AE.

Yeah, CS4 has been out for quite some time and the rumors I've heard are sometime mid April, early May.
In regards to new features, I've only seen the new features in photoshop; haven't heard anything about premiere yet, other than the fact that cineform prospect will finally (hopefully) work with it.

Do you use Cineform Prospect?

Yes, I used it with CS3, but it never worked with CS4. And according to cineform's blog, they are just skipping CS4 altogether and working on CS5.

Over at DVInfo, the Cineform guys have been saying that Prospect *IS* going to work... whatever bugs Adobe refused to work out in CS4 they've worked out in CS5. They're even offering free upgrades for everyone who bought or buys the current version of it.

Also, EmeraldICE, the two big things... well, two and a half... with Premiere is that it's going to be 64bit only (no 32bit version), and the new Mercury Engine which is supposed to take full advantage of Nvidia's CUDA technology.

You can read Adobe's sales pitch here... http://blogs.adobe.com/genesisproject/2009/11/technology_sneek_peek_adobe_me.html

Ahhh, yes. The fact that the collection will be entirely 64bit completely slipped my mind.

Are you sure? I thought I read all of the Creative Suite programs will be 64 bit. Doesn't make a whole lot of sense to continue to put out 32 bit at this point... especially for this segment of the computer market.

I'm at work and can only skim it, but I'm not seeing where it says only Photoshop, AE, and Premiere will be 64bit native.

Okay, thanks. Not really sure why they just don't do everything 64bit only... but since the only other program I use Encore, it's not really much of a loss for me

I can see why Photoshop, After Effects and Premiere pro can benefit for 64bit, but i can see any of the other programs in the suit such as inDesign etc from benefiting from the extra ram, plus, it would minimize compatibility for those programs which could be sold indioviduyally to a different market, whos OS may not bit 64bit.

For example, I'm still running 32bit, as i only have 3 gb of ram, i have no need at the moment, BUT i would have to upgrade my windows to 64bit, to use a program that wouldn't benefit. i would ofc do it for premiere pro, i use that all the time, but the others, no way.

Even if your system only has 2gb of ram, you still benefit from 64-bit windows since your virtual memory can extend the memory pool to as large as your hard drive.

It's amazing that most of this software has remained 32-bit for as long as it has. Any long form project can easly chew up 2gb. Adobe Encore is a huge dissapointment just because of all the issues you run into when you max out the ram on the program.

Well in any case, have both a 32bit and a 64bit version would be able to accomadate the whole market.

ooo...ooo Can we have edge feathering on crop effects? That would be awesome. I don't want to move over to ae just for something simple like that. Maybe a fluid morph effect just for kicks.
