CS4 just WON AVCHD editing!!

So I just found out about this update and was very excited, but I am having a couple issues I am hoping someone is willing to help me figure out. First and most importantly, when I use the 1080 30p preset on AVCHD and then I drop in 1080 30p footage, it isn't native. I don't understand what I am doing wrong. Every other preset drops in footage of coordinating type just fine and needs no rendering. I did some test shooting in the PH 1080 30P and then dragged it to the AVCHD 1080 30p timeline and I get the red line. Is anyone else having this problem or know what I might be doing wrong?

My other problem is that with the 720 24p, 1080 24p, and 720 60p modes, they are not running in real time and I am getting a lot of jumpiness. I think my computer is strong enough, but maybe not? I am running a 2.8ghz Core 2 Duo with a 64bit processor on Vista 64. I have 6 gigs of Ram. My graphics card is an ATI Radeon HD 3670.

Can anyone offer me any help? Thanks in advance!!!!

I have also red-lined under 1080 24p and when i use 1080 60i it also has alot of jumpyness - Vista 64, 8gb, Q9650, 4870 specs for reference .o and 300g Ultra SCSI 320

I used to edit by converting to mpeg and then importing footage as hdv but once I started working with 720/60p I decided to try and import the clips directly so I got the update.
It works for me, my computer has a shared intel video card, 3 gigs of ram, 2.2 ghz core 2 duo with vista 64. It's not the best setup and I do have to tolerate some jerkiness but I am very happy with how it works. I was on the fence about getting an MBP and FCP but once I learned how to work with avchd natively I am going to stay on windows...I'm liking the sony fw, 1500 bucks gets a great spec and bluray

Trying to edit AVCHD on my PC results in jerkiness during scrubbing so I downloaded that DVCPRO HD converter and it works like a charm. I do lose some resolution and quality but the images still look good even when blown up onto the big screen, and the editing is flawless.

For someone looking to buy an HMC150 shortly, what does this thread add up to then - CS4 is not as good as originally made out?

So.. given a blank slate, what would people use with this machine?

Thanks

CS4 is fine, the issue is computing power. Whatever program you use you'll need a fast PC or MAC in order to edit HD. If you have a slower computer, like I do, then you'll need to down-rez the files before editing.
