They had 43 but I just got one. Cally Sam at 1-800-388-2911, extension 3270 and he will get you yours.

I found out about this from another message on this thread but the number given is for a guy who is on vacation until next week. Sam is there now and has 42 GH1's left. He knows I am posting this message.

Crutchfield thinks GH1's have been delayed because Sony opposes the camera's ability to store true HD files. There is no actual evidence of this; it is just supposition. Sam said all they had was the cameras; they got no promotional material or anything else from Panasonic.

OMG! Ponies!!

Crutchfield has them!! and I ordered 1! when i called they had 43 in stock but not listed on their website. My cell phone dropped (iPhone w/ ATT) the call half way through the order process. When I called again they had 41 in stock, so there selling fast.
 
Got one from them too through their online chat about 20 minutes ago. Works great and extremely fast for those that don't want to or can't call.
 
Wow, they're selling fast! good luck for those who want one, please look into getting the fader ND from lightcraft workshop on e-bay as well, its an ND fader, ie variable ND, if there only 1 accessory you can buy, this may well be it! helps get those shutters down on bright days, allows you to lock exposure and then fine tune exposure during the shot.
 
In for 1. They were at 28 when I placed my order, and 20 by the time I finished it.

It will go great with my lens adaptor and fader ND, and zoom that is coming by UPS today. Thank goodness...the longer I was waiting, the more extra accessories I was ordering.


I think I'm going to end up with an extra, because of the one I RMA-d for being PAL. If it comes and it's NTSC, I'll offer up here for my purchase price.
 
Thanks! Cancelled my 3-month old order from JR and snagged one of these. Unbelievable handling by Panasonic - you could use it to write a book on how not to manage a business.

Aren't Panasonic and Sony in cahoots with the AVCHD standard. Maybe there is some truth to this after all.

Well - they seem to have got Sony worried. If I was Canon & Nikon I'd be worried too.
 
Just a word of warning to everyone: might wanna wait till you get an order confirmation from Crutchfield and make sure it's coming to you before you cancel other pre orders. I jumped the gun and canceled my Panny Direct order, only to find out that my Crutchfield order is on hold cuz they need to confirm info with the bank. They told me the camera has been allocated to me and shouldn't be sold to anyone else, but might wanna at least wait and make sure you get an order confirmation before canceling other orders.

Yeah not sure what this is about? Maybe they're upset about the codec being used in this type of camera cause they don't have their hybrid stuff together?
 
YES!! Just ordered mine! Getting it tomorrow! That guy Sam OWES the poster of this message friggin commission bigtime. There were 10 left when I called at that was approx 7 minutes ago.
 
Nightmare scenerio:

What *if* Crutchfield made an error with their inventory software and don't actually have any. After I placed my order with them, I canceled my July 7 J&R order. So now I have lost my position in line at J&R.

This is just pure worst case scenario speculation on my part. Can't wait to get the GH1 on tuesday. I even have an email confirmation from Crutchfield.
