Critique Requested: Matty Monk | Mother Mary

I work at a recording studio in Downtown Nashville and started to dabble in the video world about a year ago. This project was to promote a free song for one of the Engineers at the studios artist, Matty Monk. The shoot was low budget and last minute, but the song was recorded on the spot while I was filming. (For those curious the tripod shot was the first one and was the magic one, song wise)

We will be shooting an interview type thing in the beginning for Matty to talk about his new EP and explain a little bit about his bonus song, which will follow with this video.

The song is about Matty's stepmom, who is battling cancer.

It was nice..but truthfully it was very boring. Why not move around him a bit or somthing different to break it up. And the color was abit dull. Did not pop.

Thanks for the input Skilled, I just tried to capture what I thought in my head, which was simple straight shots pieced together.

I initially color graded on this new 30" Apple Cinema screen and had this cool yellowish desaturated look, but the monitor wasn't calibrated and on every other screen was a boring peachy color. I do plan to go back and fix it and get something better though. I think of it as a first edit, but the client is more than happy with the result.
