i took some video of my family and some friends two days ago. it is very amateurish looking...and i know its not great, but i really want to improve my video skills like photography,. so was wondering if i could get some advice

i've only started to get interested in video recently, and have had some luck making a few clips here and there. so its just a hobby (will never get seriously into it, but still want to make better video though)..
i did color correcting in fcp., i spent more time on the first parts of the video with color correcting and getting stuff 'right', and toward the end i just got lazy... so i do think the first part is better than the second.
i think the main thing is camera shake (which i find extremely hard to control on d90, as the footage was all handheld)
i'm also not good at taking video, and really want to improve.
lenses used:
50mm 1.8
35mm 1.8
18-55 zoom (the clip wasn't included in the video)
55-200mm zoom (the first three clips)
thanks!
