Someone I know bought a XL2 at one of those cheap web places.
I argued franticly against this purchase, and recommended B&H my favorite supplier for many years.
At the end he said that the difference (about U$1,000) was too big to ignore, and he contacted "personally" (over the phone) the store and was guaranteed about the precedence and warranty on the product.
The camera arrived last week and after a considerably thorough examination I didn't find any difference from the one we bought from B&H a month ago.
I've couldn’t determine if the warranty was valid or not but the paperwork is exactly the same.
Was I over cautious?
Did my company pay U$1,000 more for a store name?
Or my friend was just lucky???
I know a lot has been said about this subject, but right now I'm just wondering about all these grey market problems...
