Tried to search this one but it was flooded with questions asking about how to get presets on your camera, not edit them.
I've been given the chance to make a feature length documentary, and while I am pretty good at handling all of the outside controls, all of the editable settings to make presets pretty much mystify me. I know that this is one of the more important parts of getting the best picture you can for your environment at the time, and the manual with this thing really blows when it comes to explaining what each parameter does and when to use and when not to.
Any resources, old threads, pointers, articles, websites that I can read up on and practice with my XHA1 in the next couple of weeks so I have some understanding of the more "advanced controls" in this camera? I need this to be my best body of work yet by a longshot.
EDIT:: to pre-empt, I've read the sticky on presets a few times, and while a helpful resource, I'm not looking for general descriptions (although they do help) of each of the parameters so much as some threads, websites or articles that really dive into the inner working's of getting a great shot and using these settings to their fullest potential. In general I'm going to be filming indie shows inside of venues (small to medium clubs), footage in a tour van during the day and the night, footage outside during the day and the night, restaurants and inside peoples houses.
I don't expect to learn it overnight, but I am looking for the resources that would equate a few years at a film school without me having to pay to go to a film school
