Cr@Zy from the Heat!

DISCLAIMER: This is pretty gross. They had a report someone possibly killing themself and have been missing for a couple of days. The body had reportedly been found...well I should say, they found the car where the person had killed themselves. Living in the midwest, many people know it gets REALLY HOT in the summers and REALLY HUMID = Easy Bake Oven. Upon opening the door, the body had basically turned to liquid and spilled out of the door.

liquid? ewwwwwwww...

What do I win?

I was going to put it was really hot today and that I had a hard time breathing (and I can handle hot weather) but after putting the part about liquifide bodies, I guess that point is moot.

how does a body turn into liquid? it has to be like 600+ degrees to do suttin like that...unless...he drove into a puddle of acid laying on the pavement..haha and then felll out...died...and went bcak into the car to disguise himself......hey its possible..u never know...

naaa nooo way.......that never happens...*looks around*

but seriously..is that physicially possible?...the liquid thing...

I remember an episode of CSI where they were dealing with a "liquid" body. I forget the details and why it turned to liquid though.

Impossible. Bodies have been found in the desert, in hot metal train cars - after weeks, and they didn't turn to liquid. When bodies are cremated they don't turn to liquid. A body is mostly water so when the body dies any heat would evaporate the liquids remaining in the system, and then cause the body to shrivel up (as mentioned) or, in most cases when bodies are left outside in the heat, they expand and become huge.

Sounds like an urban legend getting some more air-time.

Unfortunately, my Mac didn't want to play the wmv file.

However, you've given me something to think about (as far as DLR is concerned) and I think I'll have to pick up a copy of his book in the future. After all, you've made good reccomendations in the past (i.e. Ghost Rider by Neil Peart). :)

That one wasnt mine, but did you ever pick up Frank Capra's autobiography?

I have no idea why the file wont play, but it's something I happened to catch in the flower garden we have in our front yard. It appears as if a humming bird and bumble bee have mated, and both genetic sides were equally sucessful in expresing their respective major qualities. It flies like a hummingbird, it feeds like a humming bird, but is colored and hairy like a bumble bee, and has a basic body of a bumble bee, with a fanning tail, mimicing the behind of a hummingbird....but guess what.....it's a friggin moth! Theyre called humming bird moths, and they come from a caterpillar thats huge, colorful, and hell on potatos, tomatos, and tobacco crops. But when in metamorphises, it becomes one the most unique creatures I have ever seen or heard of. I would love to know what it's genetic relation to the hummingbird, and how thier evolutionary paths and choices caused them both to make it into being.....so similar. I wish I knew how to make it work for you, it's really neat!

If the humming bird moth likes tomatos and tobacco, it sure would love TOMACCO! The crop Homer and The Simpson's family grew on their farm. :)

Ahhh yes... that's right! Yes, I did get The Name Above the Title. Now I'm wondering who had referred the Neil Peart book?... Anyone?... Bueller?

That sounds interesting. I'll have to Google hummingbird moths and see if I can find a pic of one.

I'm pretty sure that the reason HorseFilms quit drinking so much was because of this story... I mean, if anyone was gonna turn to liquid...

I dont know for sure, but I did know someone who died in her sleep, and it wsa in Dec, and she was under an electric blanket, and well she was found after (we guess) three days. :( She had to be cremated, even though she said she never wanted to be. But again, I didnt go on the sightseeing tour, so I cant give you a visual.

Wait.....after I finish some things up...I shall create screen grabs for the viewing impaired! To me, it is indeed pretty danged interesting! I'm wanting to call some folk from both the entomology and genetic depts of universities, and see if I cant encourage them to work on this mystery a wee bit more intimately...it really seems to be an important blip on the evolutionary studies radar.

It's also most definately....a paradigm breaker!!!!

I'm dealing with the heat by playing soccer three times a week. Beer tastes so much better after an hour and a half of soccer in 90+ degree temps!

I actually don't mind the heat when I'm running around on the soccer field. It bothers me more when I'm just standing around in the heat.

As far as the melting body not happening. I am just relaying the story as I remember it. He didn't go into graphic detail of what was melted and what wasn't. Someone said that doesn't happen in the desert, but generally there isn't 1000000% humidity to go with the 100+ weather. So imagine, if you will, a car sitting in the blistering sun for 3+ days, in that type of heat and humidity. Like I said, easy back oven. I can only imagine, but the skin and organs probably melt....okay, thats enough.

mmmm, I'm craving chicken for some reason.

Regarding those hummingbird moths -- we had some in our back yard one year. Wigged me out, because it looked and acted just like a hummingbird, until you looked closely at it, and it had these huge antennas! Weird...
