General CPM Film Tools : Flyer Rig

I'll start off by saying that I have been looking at shoulder setups for quite some time, waiting for it to be next on the list of things to buy. When it finally came time to decide on what to get, I had a few things that I needed to be able to do. I needed to be able to have a balanced setup that could be shoulder mounted as well as have enough expandability to attach the rest of my gear. The other thing was that I didn't have a ton to spend but did not want to end up with something... cheap.

So everyone has seen this gear, Steve is fairly active on this and other HDSLR forums. The build was exactly what I was expecting it to be, rock solid and light weight. The design is perfect for what we do with the ability to adjust and add to how we see fit. The price is hard to match by anyone except by products of far lesser quality.

The current monthly special they have going is an upgrade to their new cube setup. So when going with the Flyer rig you end up getting a full shoulder setup with a cube and the adjustable front handles.

When it boils down to it, this rig is of high quality, low cost and comes with great customer service. If you are looking for a shoulder rig this is a great way to go.

I'll try to update this when I actually get around to using all this stuff that I buy.

i bought in December or november last year and got the flip cage upgrade. very good stuff i must say. Only con is the grips slipping and loosening which is now corrected with end caps they have so if you are buying it make sure to get that. I do think that should already be included instead of having to buy though (i'm not sure if thats the case). Also I find 2 pounds to not be enough for counter balancing so i got 3....and even then not enough for me...so i now have ordered another weight which i'm waiting on.

I can shoot offset style...and straight through style with a monitor set up (with additional long rails). Its pretty versatile and i can grow with this rig to use with other cameras.

Now If Steve could offer longer handles like say Zacuto ...that would be even better! Did you get that email Steve???
