So with everyone clammering for the latest and greatest cameras, I'm concentrating on my lighting. Here's just a couple clips from a shoot today I was DP on. link's unlisted. I'm not editing it so I hope they do the colour justice at least. This is my own grading.

tech details: 7d+supertakumar 50mm f1.4+ Tamron 17-50mm 2.8 (non vc). And some Tiffen ND filters. Cant wait till my heliopan arrives.

I used a 2.5k HMI, 1k tungsten Fresnel, one 4ft 4bank Kino and a diva 400

Counter looks a little blown out, I know you where going for the sun coming through the window look but personally I do not think it works for this. I would have used strictly nothing but soft box lighting indoors to avoid/eliminate all shadows.

Outside shot though looks amazing, that HMI on them with the 50mm looks Golden. Something out of a movie. So kind of iffy on the indoor lighting imo, but I love the outside shot. I recently just purchased the tokina 11-16mm lens and trust me when I tell you it's something EVERYONE should own. Regardless though great job!

thanks for the Look Vision_films. Yeh beauty of lighting is that its all subjective. I love shadows and sculpting image even in high key lighting such as this. I also love back lighting. I do agree about the counter being blown...but didnt have nets on hand and had no more room to pull back the HMI. Yeh that supertak is amazing.

I wanna try that tokina badly...but i dont want to dump $ on lenses that are proprietary...If i could get a nikon (or other) one and get an adapter that can control the iris on whatever camera i'm gonna be using in the future then that would be great. Have you shot anything on the tokina I can see? would love to check it out. there ae alot of vids using it i know but would be good to see from your perspective and what u love about it.

Very nice looking stuff- I love both the interiors and exteriors!

The counter doesn't bother me at all, it just reinforces the sunlight streaming in through the window- a sun-drenched kitchen!

The first exterior at :28 I might have tried to position them with more foliage behind them to avoid the hot spot on the house if it had been possible.
Both exteriors are gorgeous, I probably like the 2nd one a little more with the soft shadows providing nice modeling.

Nicely done!

Lighting? Who lights their stuff anymore? Hahah

Nice work. 7D is a boss. If you actually know how to light a move a camera it will shine.
