C100: "Country Life" short film (C100 and Ninja 2)

Here's a short collection of clips I shot for a documentary I am working on. Shot with the C100 using my WidePF profile and a Ninja 2 recorder. I mostly used my new Tamron 70-200 F2.8 IS lens. Its $1k cheaper then the Canon and for video the quality is exactly the same. It is also black in color, not that crazy white, which just awesome on the camera! I framed this to 2.35 to give it a more cinematic look. Hope you guys enjoy it, some very low light stuff at the end in a misty cornfield.

Thanks Spartacus. Its a historical biography of an orphaned boy who moves to the country when his parents die, he then works hard, leaves the country and becomes a mechanical engineer and designs a friction draft gear for trains in Chicago (1890's). He becomes a multimillionaire but longs for the country life. He returns and starts to build a state of the art farm, with over 300 buildings, and hundreds of employees. He even builds a mansion over the top of his Aunt and Uncles farm (couldn't tear it down so built all around it). He builds one of the first centralized schools in the country and busses kids in, then builds a hospital. ALl of which are still around today and receive money from his foundation. Its quite a rags to riches story.

These clips are just some of the b-roll I will use along with hundreds of high quality B&W stills and old film footage. There will be interviews and narration for the narrative. I plan to use the country footage throughout, for example showing the growth of the corn to marry up with his life, beginning of the story it's low, then near the end of his life, it'll be mostly tall mature corn. Subtle of course, most people probably won't notice that, all four seasons on the farm will be shown as well. (The grey farm in the clips was part of the complex he built in 1909).

Beautiful shots as usual Paul! Do you use any NR settings when you output to the Ninja? Were these shots graded? Thanks for posting.

I didnt change any NR settings for recording to the Ninja or use any plug ins to reduce it in post. I lightly graded this by adjusting tonality and boosting chroma in some shots but mostly I get this in camera with the custom profile I created called WidePF. You can search here for info on it but basically start with a copy of WideDR then listing only my changes below- here are the settings:
Gamma curve is L:5, M:8, H:5
Gamma: Wide DR
Black-Master Ped: -1
Knee ON: Slope: -15 Point:109
COLOR MATRIX (This is the biggy) WIDE DR Gain:+30, Phase: +3, R-G: -20, R-B: +11, G-R:-23, G-B: -14, B-R: -10, B-G: +1,

Good lcuk and thanks guys for the nice comments!

Very nice Work, love the framing at 2.35, very "epic". can you share you widePF?

Amazing shots and the colouring is beautiful! Was this done with the AF upgrade or do you have an amazingly steady hand? The shot following the horses was spot on.

I have not sent the camera in for the AF update. That was just me with the 70-200 and a bit of luck!
