Hates to Rent
Ted, things are much tougher these days because of the tight insurance liability issues / changes. It was almost impossible for him to be insured before the theft thing and now he runs the risk of being back in jail for his actions that are a felony because the amount was over $500. Don't know anyone that would take him now unless it's a 2 day shoot, CSI Miami type part. Then when he is out of jail (prob 30 days) he WILL violate his parole again and be right back in the slammer just like last time.
I have always liked Tom as an actor BTW.
He could always shoot a prison type doc on his new camera phones and get more into producing.
First of all, in the films he was doing, no one bonded him. He was doing small under $2M films that weren't bonded to begin with, so none of that will affect his situation.
he wasn't bondable on larger films BEFORE the phone thing, so nothing changes there either.
As far as the CSI Miami stuff, his guest star stuff on that show were like 6 day gigs, and they flew him to location (NM) so no worries there - besides TV shows aren't bonded like film is.
Again, he was troubled to begin with. This little hiccup won't hurt his career one bit, except for reinforce the idea that big producers won't want him on big movies in big roles. He'll still get the small stuff he was getting before.
