copying p2 files to a disc.

how do you copy p2 files to a disc? I copied some of my dvcprohd clips from my capture scratch folder to a dvd as data files. once they were copied I checked them on my computer, and they seemed to be fine. but when I gave the disc to my friend, he said they would not open on his computer. What am I doing wrong????
 
You need to provide more information about what you did.

Did you preserver the entire P2 structure from the card? If not, what container format were the files in? What software is your friend using to try to open the files?
 
Sounds like you are both on a Macintosh, but I'm only guessing.

You need to supply this information.

DVCProHD QT files won't play on a Mac that doesn't have the DVCProHD codecs installed, and they are only installed from the appropriate FCP install discs.
 
That is definitely the problem. My friend doesnt have FCP on his Computer. thanks for the help.
