i've recently completed a 15 minute short on the canon a1 i would like to post it but would like to know how people compress a file of this size and retaine a good quality for viewing online.also i would like to show it at a hd size.thanks in advance
 
That's gonna be tough. HD files are naturally big and 15 minutes would take no less than a gig. You'll definitely have to downconvert to SD. I render out my stuff uncompressed and use Quicktime Pro at a resolution of 720 x 405 and a bitrate of 1500kb/sec.
 
Reem not sure what NLE you are using, if its mac you can get a reasonably clean online stream at 720 using H.264. Do it via compressor. If your using Premier Pro or other check out that part of the forums.
