Hi guys,

Here's my submission for All Hallows. I was a few minutes late uploading originally, so I decided to re-edit rather than submit it in it's original form (thanks to Larry R for giving me the 2nd chance). All feedback welcome.

TheComo, If you're going to say something is flat out boring, you might want to suggest why...boring is a very wide and opinionated term.

Downloading the short now, looking forward to seeing it. I'll edit my post with the comments.

Cheers Chris.

Como, what do you think would have spiced it up for you?

Cooper's routine was our seed for the short, but we couldn't think of a way to further develop the narrative without running well over the 5 minutes. The audio layer was decided on in post (hehe, not the best way to make a short :)).

Steve, I like the cinematography, sound and somewhat ambiguous story.

A few flash backs would help me conjure further details as to what role the character plays in what appears to be the murder of a women, perhaps his girlfriend/wife.

Great lighting balance and the anamorphic flares add a subtle effect. Smoking lessons for Shane, however, who really wants to master the art of smoking. :Drogar-Smoke(DBG):

Steve, I checked out the short and I agree with some of the things they're saying. Cinematography was really good and so was the music, but the music kept making you think something else was about to happen or that we would see him reall do something. Some flashbacks would be really good, I think and they wouldn't have to be very detailed. If you haven't seen "In Pieces" yet (the film that won 1st this year), check out how they did a couple of their flashbacks. Very simple, but yet effective. Good job though, for getting it finished and I did like the idea of the story as well.

Take care.

Thanks guys, some good suggestions. I agree it is pretty linear and uneventful. Perhaps something to develop.

Dime, that look was from a crappy 2 point filter on Ebay. Cost me $5. Hard to find a 2 point filter - if I could find a quality one I'd pay plenty. The old adage about not putting sh!t glass in front of your lens applies here - my 720p footage lost almost half its res. Still, I got the look I was after. I believe you can achieve the same effect with Magic Bullet Looks.
