Cool feature: Digital Level

Just got my 7D today, and I found a cool feature that I hadn't seen in the manual yet.

Pressing the "info" button twice brings up a digital level on the LCD screen. It's similar to an airplane level for pan and tilt.

I use it fewquently on a locked tripod. Very handy. When there's downtime I run around with the camera and pretend I'm playing Flight Simulator.

It is a cool feature. Not sure how often I will use it, but it is cool. A great feature for landscape photographers.

I love this feature. It's like the HUD in fighter jets! I don't even look at the ball head level anymore!

Oh man... I wish I woulda thought of this. Shooting res charts is such a pain to level things out. Yes the 7D's HUD/level feature is cool, I forgot about it, rats.

it turns off when you record

so ok for composition but crqp as a steadicam aid which it would be great for

That's too bad. It would have been an awesome feature for steadicam work.

Yeah, a bit annoying that it turns off during recording. Would be amazing if we could pull tracking data from the Dual Axis along with the video too. Something like the Wii hacks?
