COOL DEMO REEL- 40secs.

This is a my 40 sec. Director's reel. I tried to make it 30 secs but the music dictated the extra Ten.

It was my attempt to have a fast, kinetic Demo that would catch your interest and end before you were bored.

Did it work?

I'd love some feedback.

It's QT7 and it's 30MB.

Seems to load pretty quickly though...

I like it, high energy, most people put in things they enjoyed shooting, i was reading something and a big problem with reels is people put to much of what they like into reels not enough really good images, almost bias is you must. Very nice reel. I'd hire you.

really cool man! I really loved that shot with the guy on the mountain (looked like a crane shot).

the only complaint i have is some interlace lines throughout...fix that and you've got something really nice~!

Thanks guys.

Tjohara, I know what you are saying about the interlaced frames. They drive me crazy too. I'm having compression problems when I de-interlace so I haven't figured my way around them yet. I'll def. get rid of them before I submit this. Thanks.

Those shots are from a short thing I did on Cosplay.

Cosplay is where cute girls, and some guys, dress up as their fav characters and strange men take their pictures all day. It's a real trip to sit back and watch the whole thing go down. It's huge in japan and taiwan. Those clips are in Taipei, Taiwan.

rook, it has good energy but needs work. Here's my wish list for it:

1 Deinterlace that ish!
2 Work on CC'ing the clips to make it appealing to the eye more.
3 Send me a link to that bee vs spider clip that you made, was it called freedom or something? That ish was hot homie, classic! I want to download it so send me a direct link to the file. Thanks man!

looks good, presumably you'll be packaging this on DVD with full projects?

I'm not sure, but did anyone mention the interlacing? ;)

Dougspice, thanks. Yeah the plan is that this will play when you pop in the DVD and afterword be greeted with a menu to view entire projects.

The interlacing sucks I know...problem is when I de-interlace and compress it gets REALLY jumpy. Haven't figured it out yet.

no sound but the vid was cool

I am in the process of making a reel right now and this is a good influence

nice job

Thanks guys!

I should have listed the music earlier. The band is called The Go Team. They're from england and their record is amazing.

rook - I like the imagery. Interlacing is beyond distracting. In a clip so short, anything that takes the viewer's attention away from the images must be removed. I loved the pacing (Go Team was a great choice). I do agree that some of the shots (like the girl at the desk) need a little bit more polishing in their CC, but overall a nice spot and I think a great choice to open a dvd.

Been working on the CC. Looks awesome on my TV but dark on my monitor.

Anyone have some tricks to get around this old problem? Anyway of pushing up the brightness without it going all milky on me?

Rook that looked really cool! I liked that shot of the dude on the mountain..that was really somethin...also the shots you did with the people on the bikes...very smoooooth..was the cam attached to the car on like a stickypod or something?

try bringing up your brightness if the other thing fails...becuase shots usually do look different on a computer monitor than they do on a TV.

btw...where did you get that shot of the film roll in the beginning? that looks really cool.

rook, I loved the mix.

rook, I loved the mix.

I loved the mix. Nice choice of shots. I never would of thought of melting the solders, haha. Nice work, except for the interlacing. I know your working on it. Keep up the good work.

Black hawk, thanks man. The bike shots were done with a really simple home made stabilizer. And the mountain shot...I had an 18 foot crane with focus and zoom control. It was great.

Newtodvx100a, thanks bother.
