Cool 4 card SDXC card reader

I suppose it saves you from switching cards during a copy if you dont mind doing parallel or queued copies, but it doesnt look like itll help for speed much if its USB2 unless you are working with a bunch of slow cards.

This 4 card reader looks a good option for the one-man band shooters doing day long on the road or low budget feature. stack your 8 or 16 gb cards up over the course of the day and download them in batches at lunch or on wrap at the end of the day, instead of babysitting changing cards.
I've only ever had 8gb p2 cards on my hvx with 2 p2 stores for the day, so with the longer recording times of avchd on my sandisk 8gb cards I've been looking for exactly this.

I like the idea of shooting on several cards as opposed to just one. If one card goes bad you don't loose all your footage, just some. So for me this is perfect for almost all situations. That way you plug in all the cards at the end, all spanned clips will be joined and import everything like it's one card.

This card reader just arrived. It was backordered for a while, but it just arrived now. I'll test it out and get back to you.

Ok I did some tests with the 4 SDXC card reader and it is just as fast as you would expect any other card reader to be when using the same cards. It was nice to put 4 full 16 gig class 6 cards in the card reader before bed and have FCP transcode all the clips through out the night and have a hard drive full of ProRes clips when I woke up. This card reader will go out with my AF100 if it gets rented out and I will probably use it when I fill up more than 1 card. I think it was a good buy for me.
