Converting NTSC to PAL

Anyone have tips on converting NTSC into PAL, I am working in FCP and I am wondering if some one can give me instruction because I have never done this before.

Easiest and best results with software - Nattress Standards Conversion (about $99). Better results come from hardware scaling, but that is big bucks.

FCP can also do it, but it is worth buying the plugin.

natress is so good - its even beter than your mattress!

seriously - a no brainer purchase if you are pal - ntsc and vice versa transcoding- go grab them demo and try it

Usually an NLE will not convert the Ntsc to pal very well. There is a way to do it using After Effects where you interpret the nstc footage at pal frame rates then pitch your sound by 4% to match.

Another option is a program like DVFilm Atlantis. Atlantis can convert your footage from NTSC to PAL and vice versa. You can download a full working demo (with watermark) and DVFilm is having a 25% off sale until Xmas.

Hope this helps,
Andy

I'll vouch for Natress as well... the demo works well.. (only has a small demo watermark on the LHS of the frame)...

I've sent Pal to NTSC conversions to film festivals and the demo watermark is TV safe...

It's on my buy list of plugins...

Cheers

I've tried the After effects way from PAL to NTSC and in the long run I found Natress results better and far easier....

Just my 2c
