Convert to Prores in PC not Mac HELP???

Convert 7d mov to prores is not difficult if you got a canon mov to prores converter, you can search online with Convert Canon EOS 7D to ProRes 422, maybe you can find what you want.

To a degree. The $130 for Cineform Neoscene will ONLY write AVI on the PC. To pass files back and forth to the Mac you need NeoHD, which is $499 each. This is why I use DNxHD, which does the same 10-bit 4:2:2 for free.

DnxHD is pretty similar to simple motion JPEG compression, while Cineform is an advanced wavelet codec.
To say it does almost the same thing for free is a pretty bold statement.

Do you know someting i don´t know or is this based on: "I can see no visual difference" ?

Moving over to Windows 7 Professional 64bit because of CS5 is one of the best things to happen to my workflow with the 7D. It allows me to edit natively and I don't have to transcode anything. Another plus is that I get to work with the master file in AE when I color correct in a 16bpc environment.

So, dumb it down for me, gang. Using a PC with Sony Vegas. I've got a drawer full of H.264 tracks. What should I do before I start editing the files?

I own and use NeoScene, but I have also played around with DNxHD within MPEGStreamclip. It's a great codec and a great (FREE) solution, but the one thing that always seems to throw me for a loop (and keeps me from enthusiastically recommending it) is that it doesn't seem to support 1080p at 29.97. It'll do 1080i at 59.94, 1080p at 23.976 (and more), and no problems doing 720p at 29.97, but no 1080p at 29.97.

Am I missing something, has there been an update, or how do you folks who use it get around that?
