Convert A1 footage to HD-SDI or SD-SDI on the fly

I received a email from focus enhancement about a product that converts the HDV footage to
HD-SDI or SD-SDI. What do the pros thing about this ? Will this solve the codec issues of the A1 ? Will the footage be as good as G1 and H1 footage?

For a moment there I got excited because it looked like a uncompressed Firestore for $700. But it's not. That's basically a converter box that gives you HD-SDI output for live capturing in a studio environment. The camera is still tethered to a computer and you'll still need to spend a pretty penny on hard ware to work with the uncompressed footage.
