Hey Mitch, is there anyway this can be speed up to early December? I have series of network shoots around then that could really benefit from a compressed codec. I would even be happy with plain old 4:2:2 8-bit compressed. The 2K RAW is overkill for this as we have a ton of footage to gather.

It is a process to which there are MANY moving parts. Believe me we want it out as soon as possible. If we could have released with it in October we would have. When it can be released it will be. We have zero interest in any delays.

Sorry 'bout that. We had a secondary supplier run out on a fairly mundane part, but it meant a backlog on our assemblies. We basically did everything except that one part on a huge pile of units. The part is now in (many thousands of them!) so we're going to start chugging away again. But please note that once we get each unit assembled it goes through a QC and burn-in testing period, so it's not like we can just dump them all into a FedEx box and away we go.

A brief bottlenck but the river is about to flow once more. Worldwide deliveries included in next batch.
 
Thanks Mitch - I just need to communicate to a client the rough time line, I've already told them to book a Sony recorder - but they may decide to reschedule if the wait is not too onerous.

Just received shipping confirmation of my O7Q from B&H Photo. I had pre-ordered July 3rd. Excited!
 
Darn Minnesota weather held up my 7Q. Was supposed to have it this morning but now I won't get it until Monday. I ended up doing a late preorder with Texas Media Systems, they were able to get me one quick. Excited to get it in my hands!
 
So I just got word for my dealer that I won't get my unit until March/April ! - And I ordered in June and I'm #2 on their list! Sorry, but I can't help but feel that we in the EU/ alot of places not in the US - are being left out. I mean the first guy in this post got his in november.
 
I can tell you that more than half of the units shipping this week and next are going to our distributors outside of North America. We cannot control how they are handled from there, although we do have understandings with our distributors (who then handle the local dealers within their territory) that allocation be fair and equitable.
 
I can confirm what Mitch said.
I got a notification that mine shipped today by my dealer.
I was #4 on the list so there might have been more than one in Germany.
it's Christmas! - but for self-paying patients ;-)

sure. it's bpm Hamburg. I buy almost my whole stuff there and I appreciate their service very much. I pre-ordered the 7Q soon after announcement and I was #4 on the list.
 
Sorry if I'm behind the times on this but I just wanted to ask/confirm that the 7Q can record compressed 10 bit YUV 4K? Up to 60p 4K?
