"Control" - Made for the Atlanta 48 Hour Film Project

Rachel was in ours here in Cincinnati too, ha that's crazy I happened to see yours on here.

That was incredible though, very very well done. Everything looked and sounded good, even the vfx were done pretty well.

I can't believe that voice comes from that skinny kid though, probably the craziest part.

This is a really cool movie. Loved what you guys did: great visuals and a decent story. My only concern was that almost everyone (except the camera guy) seemed so young and that maybe more age appropriate roles could have been written. Apart from that it was a good time.

Brevis MPp.1 RULES!!!!

I left yo u a comment on Vimeo but again, I enjoyed the film and I think you did a wonderful job considering the time alloted.

it says you didn't some tweaking after the 48 hour on your vimeo page, so to what extent I don't know, but it's still good.

Just some color grading, ADR, and some other small things. the main VFX shots were in there for the theater screening :) (which I am glad for!)

Glad you liked it. Rachel was great to work with.

That's an amazing rig man! You've certainly come along way from "raining day cinematography"(still classic HV20 footage). I look forward to seeing more of your work in the future.

Thanks man! I've got some projects coming up that I'm super excited about. (a music video overseas, and a 15-20 minute short film later this year)

Did anybody notice the ADR work on this film? Any critiques on the cinematography / shot choice?

I have to say that the ADR really bothered me. It definitely came across as ADR in spots.

Now... the cinematography was excellent. Great camera movement. Love the bedroom shot! I also really liked the SFX's on his hands. Very cool. Was that easy to do? AE?

The story had me but I kind of got lost towards the end. I understand what happened but could never really figure out the guys motivation for wanting to be with her. Maybe I missed it?

Great work overall!

Makes me wish I had a Brevis for my HV20.

The hands were fairly easy. Two circle masks, feathered, with rough motion tracking. Distortion + brightness added.

thanks for the input. I'm gonna try and work on getting good audio on set instead :)

you can get good audio ADR, just takes a little patience and time to make sur eyou get it absolutely right. but then you gotta make sure you're doing ALL of the dialog in a particular scene, not mixing and matching. Its the foley and SFX that's always the most challenging... once you have a decent actor who is a good mimic, then ADR becomes easier...

Not knockign on set audio of course, just the element of control you can have with ADR can't quite be beat.
