Hey Jarred,

In going through all these threads over the course of the past few months I've noticed that a lot of great composers have offered their services to create a score for many of the entries. I was thinking it might be a good idea to add a "Best Score" to the list of winning categories?

I know it is kind of late in the process, so you might not be able to get a prize set up for it. But even if it was just for recognition, I think it would be a good thing to add.

I wholeheartedly agree with this idea, and would love to see it happen! Again, if it's too much of a burden, nevermind, but it would be great to even just recognize the best score!
 
Run that up the flag poll and I'll salute it.:thumbsup:

Also, I would love to see a best acting/supporting acting award. No prizes, of course...just the recognition would be a great prize in itself.
 
I quatrate (?) the suggestion (I fourth-second it).

This is turning into a regular academy awards ceremony. Is there any way to set up a polling station where we could just throw in our votes for a lot of stuff (notable acting... etc)
 
The special awards get decided on by mod consensus. We're really trying to *simplify* the whole process, so we're not going to have a general vote on multiple categories. Trust me when I say we're all better off with a simple system. It's late in the game to add a new prizewinning category (as we've comitted all our prizes), but maybe we can have a few non-prize winning categories. I'll start a "For Your Consideration" thread for the special categories, so I can see what all of you think about the technical awards.
 
Yeah, even without prizes, it's still something to boast about to your buddies. "Hey, a DVXUSER thinks I'm tops, mate". (you might say if you were Australian)
 
oh yeah best actor/actress would be an awesome award even if theres no prize. it would be great for all the free work we're getting out of these poor schlubs.

ps: i think this is my 400th post!
 
Ok. Lets make some more awards even when they dont include prices.
How about:
actor and actress
best score
best special FX
best art direction
