Content Folder Problems!!!

Hi - I just shot a tv pilot using the HVX 200 and recording on P2 Cards... Problem is, on some of the days, we shot multiple groups of cards, and the folders are now all mixed up... Log and Transfer is only recognizing the "Contents" sub-folder, and not the "Contents 2" subfolder below it. I have tried to move the folder, rename it, but Log and Transfer won't recognize any of those... Please help, What am I not seeing. Thanks a million!

I don't think you can have another folder called Contents 2, because it's programmed to only recognize the "Contents" folder, and that's it. If you add an extra character or number, you mess up the folder structure. I recommend putting that "Contents 2" folder in another folder, like Footage 2, and then take out the "2" from "Contents 2". See if that helps.

This is one of the reasons you're best off using P2 Viewer or other similar software to transfer footage from the cards. You can put all the footage into a single folder if you like, or define folders as you see fit. Plus, it'll stitch spanned clips, tc.

when transferring P2 cards (i do simple drag and drop) ALWAYS create a new folder for each card

here is an example of how id handle a shoot today:

04_14_2010 (the folder for the whole project)
-- CARD_01
CONTENTS
lastclip.txt
------------
-- CARD_02
CONTENTS
lastclip.txt
------------
-- CARD_03
CONTENTS
lastclip.txt
------------
and so on...

How did the folders get all mixed up?

Did you use an offloader as David suggested, or did you copy the enter p2 folder/volume contents including lastclip.txt file intact to separate folders identified as each card?
