Quick and dirty test of the Contax G 28mm.

I have notice a big drop in IQ at F2.8 around the corners. It cleans up by F4. I believe that the non-rangefinder version of this lens will work better on m43.

It looks perfectly clean in the corners to me, even a f2.8.

Back when I had a G2 and most of these G lenses, it was clean into the corners even on full frame. On m4/3 it should be perfectly sharp throughout and at all apertures.

In my opinion, and that of many lens designers, the rangefinder lenses have a huge optical advantage, because being able to position the rear element closer to the sensor/film makes for a better, sharper lens. These Contax G are some of the best lenses ever made.
