What if someone wants an AVCHD camcorder that records 24p, for cheap? The HMC40 is $2,000. The consumer TM300 is about $1,200, but it records 24p over 60i, not native. Enter the SD100, which records native 1080p24 video. It is out of production, giving way to the TM300, but can still be found in online stores. I got mine for just 1/5 of the price of the HMC40, and I think for this money it is a darn handsome machine.
Another consumer camcorder that records native 24p is the HDC-SD9, it is even older than the SD100. Also there is the Canon HV40, but it is tape-based, eww
