I am interested in use the Magic Lantern HDR video feature, and I know it works best in 720p because it allows to shot at 60fps or 48fps and get two streams at 30fps or 24fps to do merge.

So I would like to know about the 720p quality in Canon DSLRs. I downloaded some footage and I saw a mix of different qualities. I start searching for T3i / 600D because it is inexpensive and have a flip LCD.

The 720p 60p footage from T3i on vimeo shows good quality and aliasing is not a big issue. But in Imaging Resource website review it shows lots of aliasing. So I got confused. Also Imaging Resource reviews shows different 720p quality in T2i, T3i, 60D and 7D.

So I would like to know if someone knows if there is differences in quality from the different cameras and if the T3i / 600D shows lots of aliasing in 720p or not. Thanks in advance.

I found the 600D T3i is the best price performance among Canon DSLRs. So I have a question about audio:

I would like to know if I can use the options in the original canon firmware to do manual audio adjust even if the ML is instaled. I want to to go to 600D T3i Sound Recording Menu and change Sound Rec. to Manual and adjust the Rec Level. Is this possible?

In the ML USER GUIDE i found: "The 600D/T3i already has manual audio control, but right now it's not possible to change audio settings from Magic Lantern. You can only use audio meters during recording."

Does this means the audio options in the original firmware are unavailable after installing ML?

In the ML USER GUIDE I also found: "Does Magic Lantern completely replace Canon firmware? No. Magic Lantern runs from the card, as an add-on over standard firmware. You will still be able to access all Canon functionality."

So does this mean I can exit ML menu and go to the 600D T3i original camera menu and adjust the audio levels manually and than go to ML menu again?

I have a T3i and I find 720p video out of it is practically useless. It shows horrible aliasing and moire everywhere all the time. I'll suggest that HVR video is a mixed bag and not often if ever worth the effort. Just my $0.02

Cheers,
Pete
