conrad_johnson Girl Next Door

Just finally getting the time to copy the notes I compiled in a Word doc while watching the shorts:

Some things I liked about this was the exploitation factor of the girl … seems like something that’s typical of this genre, but haven’t seen much of it in this fest. Our film has been called gratuitous, but I would actually say this one was, and purposely so, I believe. What girl, in their right mind is going to stop to change her clothes, let alone call her boyfriend vs. 911 after killing something like that in her home? This film was so tongue-in-cheek (I hope that was the intention) that it makes it harder to judge in some respects. Was the blood SUPPOSED to suddenly appear too quickly all over her when she really wasn’t slamming the door that hard? Is the script supposed to be that crazy that she would go & take a shower with those dead things in her home? Tough, because even if it’s meant to be super campy, it’s also a dream (so we believe), which also lends to why things may not normally happen yet are here. All that said, I believe the sound (ADR, etc.) still needed much work, as well as acting (unless it’s supposed to be campy).

Campy is my game.
I can't help myself, I always go for campy.
Thanks for the review.

Well, Thanks for all of the critique and the kind words.

I had a great time in this festval, but this marks the end of an age for me... the end of writing my own shorfilms.

From now on I'm happy to announce that Lingothree will write all future productions.
Yay.
Thanks again.
