Hello..

Just thought of something. Is there a PCMIA-Firewire adapter we could connect to the HVX200? That way we could connect the FS-100 to the P2 card slot, keeping the original sensitive Firewire slot safe and unused? Would be a cool solution to keep it from ware and tare..

What's this "we" stuff?

How about using this http://www.geeks.com/details.asp?invtid=NN-PC2012-S4-DT&cat=CCD
to connect the FS-100 to the HVX200 without touching the Firewire slot?

Just want to make sure I got this right. You want to bypass the firewire circuit already on the HVX by adding a card that would give you 2 more firewire ports in which to plug in the FS-100?

If it's not a P2 card, it shouldn't be plugged into the HVX. Just an FYI. Plus, I'm taking off 5 points each for the "ware" and "tare".

Unfortunately, the Cineporter never made it to production. But if it had, you wouldn't need the FS-100 in the first place. The Cineporter was supposed to simulate a P2 card only the recorded material was to go to a larger storage on the Cineporter.

But there is (as far as I know) no other device that will plug into the P2 slot for the purpose of recording. It's P2 or firewire, one or the other.

There isn't a simple way to achieve what you want with what you suggested.

Otherwise, it would have been tried, and if successful, used.

Best to stay away from anything in that p2 slot or slots except p2 cards
