Confirming HVX200A Japanese Version

Hi Gang (Thanx for all your previous help)

I received a recent Ebay purchase from Adorama for a used HVX200A. I usually prefer B&H but was impressed with the cosmetic condition of the camera. Almost appears they possibly cleansed & buffed the casing, it actually looks 'mint' with 400 operational hours. I have 30 days to return it for any reason and another 60 days for possible repairs. This camera is a Japanese version (something they never told me). I've read there are only subtle differences between the American version and Japanese version? I owned several DVX100B's one was Japanese, (never any problems). Since I've never owned an HVX I just wanted to be sure this is in fact a '200A'? It seems (at first glance) the only identification is a 'NEW' SKU Tag: no. 915989.

I called them and they said its definitely a 200A. From the photos I listed is there any other way to provide further proof (if neccessary)?

Man do I miss my HVX200. I had one of the original 200s from December 2007 to August 2008. Paid $6500 new for it.. it's amazing how cheap you can get one now! Was thinking sometime early next year of picking one up again second hand. Enjoy the cam! :)
 
It's been a long time since I had a 200a but I think you'll find the manufacturers label and serial number under the view finder. That should eliminate all doubt!

funny. i have an hpx170 that i often say that i will take to the grave with me. simply because:
- servo zoom
- no rolling shutter
- XLR connections.

try to find all of that in ANY modern camera!

the couple of times i half-considered selling it off, the current street price (if you can find anyone who even wants one) of about $600 makes me just decide to keep it.
 
Isn't the japanese version technically a HVX205a?
Regardless, it's what I have and have used to shoot 5 feature length films on and a bunch of commercials & music videos. Never an issue. I think the only difference between that and the US version is some additional languages, which for my purposes is irrelevant.
