Computer question for the HF 200

My HF 200 is a pretty sweet camcorder but my HP PAvilion zd8000 can't handle the files. The video skps and the audio is messed up. It has been suggested to me that I should get a new desktop/laptop with a new configuration preferably a dell.

Any suggestions on what type of setup would be appropriate? My only requirement is to that my computer has to be able to handle AVCHD Files.

what are the specs on your compter cpu? ram? For avchd you would want at least a quadcore processor @ 3ghz, 2gb+ for ram, and a good video card. If your compter doesn't come close to that then you might have to build a new computer if you want a nice smooth play back. I had to get a new computer for my canon hf s10 cause my laptop is weak.

What type of computer did you get?

What do you think of this bad boy?

Yeah, I'm actually using my HF200 to shoot my little webseries thing and I had to drop it down to 12mbps in order to be able to edit/view it on my computer (Pentium D).

Supposedly a D should be able to handle the files at 17mbps, but it's a no go and 24mbps is pretty much just still pictures on my computer. lol

The manual states pretty plainly exactly what specs your computer needs to have in order to work with this camera at its highest setting.
