Hi
I have 7D. Month ago connection with notebook (EOS Utility) worked fine. When i was trying to connect 7D to computer last week - nothing happens. Windows doesnt recognized 7D at all, while 400D works fine. I checked 3 computers, 4 cables, and 400D works fine, 7D is not recognized by system. 7D's AV out (via usb port) works fine. Any suggestion? Maybe i forgot about something? Is original 7D cable needed?
Thanks for help

To be clear, it doesn't work on any computer? Do you have the original cable that shipped with the camera? I see no reason that would be it, but it might be worth checking.

Stock: Yes, After connecting 7d to computer, I turn it on both in photo and video mode.
Even late at night I updated firmware to latest version. Nothing changed.

I have many miniusb<->usb cables, some of them lying in the garage. Currently I have 3 cables on my desk. One is signed by canon, probably this is the one included with 7D

My macbook pro wouldn't recognize my 7D after I had plugged a T2I into it. I had to reboot with the 7D on and connected to get the EOS utility to pick it up again.

i had the same prob at first with my 7D, had to always use the card reader.

Not sure what the prob was, when i reinstalled windows after upgrading hard drives it worked fine after that.
