So I'm a little confused and I'm sure one of you guys can help me out with this.
I shoot HD with the HVX and down-convert to SD DVD. When I export from final cut into compressor I use the setting: MPEG-2 6.2Mbps (.mv2) 16x9. I tweak the bitrate and GOP but nothing else. When I check the summary tab it shows that my frame size is 720x480. All is well and I submit the files.
Then when the file is finished I open it with QT and look at the movie inspector and see that the frame size is 720x404 (not 480). And when I burn it to disc and play it on my computer the frame pops up and is slightly larger than the original .mv2.
I think that there is probably a relatively simple but technical answer for this but it has been bugging me for some time now. If this is how everything should be working then my follow up question is whether or not a hollywood DVD MPEG-2 file in 16x9 would also be 720x404 and not 720x480.
Thanks guys!
