Hi this have been asked alot before but I have not found any answers so I take the opportunity to ask it.

I have an 1920x1080 25p project in FCP (dvc pro hd). I choosed share, Blue-ray. I don't have an blueray burner so I have the dvd burner as output device and AVCHD.
Then send to compressor. In compressor I checked the checkox of multipass. Then submitted the rendering.

I open dvd studio pro and choose import the comressor encoded files as assets. Only the ac3 sound imports and I get promted by dvd studio pro that the "blueray" i a incompatible format?

Any answers?

I have sucess creating the hd dvds using the share function in fcp and skipping compressor and dvd studio..

HD-DVD and Blu-Ray are two separate formats. There was a bit of a battle to see which one would be adopted, and Blu-Ray won.

DVDSP is not yet capable of authoring or handling Blu-Ray. It can only handle DVD (SD) and HD-DVD. If you want to author Blu-Ray, you'll need to find a third-party application to do that. Roxio Toast Titanium 10 can do this.

If you want to make an AVCHD disc, I would recommend Toast 10. You'd have to purchase the Blu-ray plug-in as well. None the less, Toast will allow you to create either AVCHD on standard DVD or Blu-ray on blu-ray disc is you get a blu-ray burner.

You can author true blu ray discs with a blu ray burner on a Mac with Toast 9/10, Compressor 3.5 and Encore CS3/4/5.

Support for AVCHD discs using red laser dye SD DVDs is in those three apps as well.

I wanted to burn a hd on a regular dvd. So I think HD-DVD that uses AVCHD as codec would be correct. Im going for a bluerayburner later this year. What burners do you recomend?
I have toast 9 but not the hd plugin. I have to upgrade to version 10 and then ad the hd plugin. Maby toast is the way to go. First I will try to put chapters in compressor and export an "AVCHD Disc" for playback in bluerayplayers.
