Compression Settings

Howdy-

I'm just getting into workflow with my A1 and have been striking out with compression. What codecs/bitrates/resolutions are you all using to yield good results?
 
Yep, it's a nightmare all right. LOTS more information needed before you'll get an answer I'll assume.

First.... What kind of footage 60i,24f,30f? At least we only have three main choices here huh?

THEN....

I highly suggest you pick a "target" --- DVD, BD, PS3, XBOX, iTV, Web steaming, Web download, iPod, television, film transfer....

Go from there because they all seem to be VERY specific to get the "best" results.
 
Can't help you at all on that one... LOL, I've been dedicated to strictly 60i footage thus far.

I'm looking forward to some of the replys though. I'm guessing the word "Cineform" will come up a few times.
 
i stole this cheat codes from recent video posts.
For Web i usually use this with:
res: 640x360
audio: mpeg4 128kbps-112(sacrificing for video quality)
video: about 1.5MBits-2.5MBit/s
codec: h264, streamin mode on.

As for showing elsewere with my computer, whether it be home, somewhere with a projector, my max resolutions are usually 1280x720 with insane quality!
