OK guys this is driving me bananas
So I have a Canon XHa1s and the ultimate goal is to output video to my Black Magic Intensity Pro for wireless streaming. I decided to take baby steps and just get video to output to my Samsung HDTV or Asus Monitor (with component in) first.
My TV recognizes that the component cable is plugged in and active, but I get the "no signal" bounce box. Same with the Asus monitor. I can't get the viewfinder comp out or the HD/SD comp out to send any signal. I'm using the DTC-1000 official canon comp cable.
I had the people at Canon tell me "just plug the dern thing in and it magically works," which either is true and my stuff is broken, or is lacking in some minor detail.
Am I doing something really stupid? Or do I need to send in my camera/cable for a checkup? Talk to me like I'm a complete idiot to make sure I'm not missing a step.
