C100: Complementing camera for C100

Hi,

I have a C100 and one 5D iii and a 7D. Unfortunately there seems to be a color difference between the C100 and the other two cameras. The latter seems to be artificially sharp and the colors seems way different to the C100. What other cameras are out there that can Complement the C100.

I was thinking on the routes of c100 MkII or an FS5. If you guys have any other recommendations please advice.

There will almost always be a difference between cameras - Theres a difference between the C100 mk1 and the C100 mk2.
If you need to match as-close-as-possible out of camera, sell the 5D and 7D and pick up a used C100 to go with your other one.

That said, you can match C100mk2 to C100mk1 (and vice versa) along with the FS5, but you'll have to do the matching in post.

That's exactly what I would do. C100's are very inexpensive used now and will save you the hassle of matching in post. However if you do get a FS5 or A7 cam once you get the right formula in post you should be just fine.

Buy a Xrite ColorChecker video and shoot the target with both cameras. Take them in post and match the colors. Note the changes and you are set. I would always shoot a color chart with two cameras even if they are the same. One could have a bad white balance or other setting issue. CYA!
 
Thank you Chapell thats a great idea as well. Is there a huge difference between the Mark 1 and Mark 2

My b-cam is a 1DC for interviews. There is a small difference in the way green is sensed and DR, but I've got the cameras setup so that the C100 almost directly matches the 1DC in neutral with the lowest contrast. It required adding about 10 to the saturation and increasing the slope of the C100 starting with WideDR. I can cut between the two shots in interviews without any color correction.
