Compatibility of DVX 100a???

I am trying to sell my dvx 100a but realized that most computers don't have a firewire port. As a seller, what's my best course of action as a work around? I don't want to sell something the buyer can't use after all. Does this make my product obsolete?

I think many other factors have made it obsolete, not just that one.

There are still computers out there with firewire (I have 3 here now), that aspect alone is not a show stopper.

I wouldn't worry about it. People interested in the DVX100 are probably aware of it's requirements, if they're not, that's on them, not you. Just accurately present it's condition and call it a day.

It was a great camera, but it's obsolete due to being 17 years old, having 4:3 aspect ratio, SD resolution, and BT.601 color space, etc.

Thanks for the input guys! I really appreciate it

I may just buy the thunderbolt adapter and package it. The problem is being SD, I am not getting many responses but I have one.

Thanks again!

Just wanted to add one thing; please keep in mind that some people may have FW400 or Thunderbolt 3 (or both!) so that adapter above wouldn't be compatible.

(Don't want you wasting money on my recommendation. It was just an example of something you can suggest - if it would work - for a potential buyer's setup.)

If it has an ExpressCard or PCMCIA expansion slot, then there are firewire adapter cards available.

Just sell the camera. Post is for post. There are plenty of adapters.
